Susannah Sarah “Susie” Madurski, 71, of Fanwood, New Jersey, passed away peacefully in the early morning of June 26, 2026, from complications of Alzheimer’s disease.

Susie was born on January 6, 1955, in Madison, Wisconsin. She grew up in East Amherst, New York. She later pursued advanced education, earning the maximum number of master’s credits possible, while dedicating her career to working with elementary-aged students who faced emotional and cognitive challenges.

Susie found joy in simple pleasures: reading, walking, and spending time with her family. She loved shopping with her daughter and cheering at her son Rick’s hockey games. She also served as a leader in her local AA group, where she helped others maintain their sobriety with compassion and strength.

She is survived by her loving husband, Rich Madurski; her son, Rick, and his wife, Shannon; her daughter, Katie, and her husband, Yousef; grandchildren, Archie, McKenna, Noah, and Nora, and; her brother, Tim Nelson. She was predeceased by her brother, Tom Nelson.

A celebration of life will be held on July 12, 2026.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in her honor.
