Stanley Phillips, 81, passed away peacefully at his home in West New York, NJ on August 22, 2022.
Born in Brooklyn, NY on June 7, 1941, a loyal Brooklyn Dodger fan, even after they moved to Los Angeles. He also loved rooting for the NY Rangers hockey team and the NY Giants football team. But sports weren’t his only passion; he equally loved Broadway and was as likely to take a road trip to see a favorite touring Broadway show as he was to go see his team in action.
He is survived by Cheri Phillips (nee Cook), his devoted wife of 34 years; his sisters-in-law Kathy Wellman (Mike) of Bay St. Louis, MS; Jennifer Botter of Nashville, TN; Wendy Carpenter (Scott) of Cincinnati, OH; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his daughter Carin Phillips.
His family and friends will forever miss his sense of fun and adventure, the twinkle in his eyes and his warm generosity. Stanley requested there be no services, so take in a game or a Broadway show and think of him.
Donations may be made in his memory to Broadway Bridges at BroadwayBridges.org/donate.
