Richard Lee Bercaw

Richard Lee Bercaw, 63, passed away unexpectedly on Monday November 27, 2023, at Hackensack Meridian Health JFK in Edison. He was born in Elizabeth, grew up in North Plainfield, graduating the Class of 1978.

After high school he pursued his passion of being an Auto Mechanic, ultimately owning his own stations, Rich’s Ultra Sunoco in Fair Haven & Shrewsbury NJ. Rich also had a passion for football, mainly his NY Giants. He enjoyed spending time skiing, fishing, movies, music concerts & motorcycles. His imagination & ingenuity gave him the ability to build or repair anything, especially if there were an engine involved.

He was a hard-working easy-going gentleman, who cherished time with family & friends. He lived life by a simple rule of treating others how he wanted to be treated.

He was predeceased by his father Frederick Bercaw Sr.

He is survived by his mom Vernie Bercaw, 2 sisters Colleen Parliman and Suzette Castillo, 2 nephews Joshua Castillo and Tyler Parliman, 3 nieces Maria Castillo, Abigail Castillo and Jasmine Aaliyah Castillo.

As per Richards request, he was cremated, a Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 10th 2023, 2:00 pm-4:00 pm. at the First Presbyterian Church, 600 Rahway Avenue, Woodbridge, NJ 07095.
