Michael Q. Lee, 54, who lived in New Jersey, peacefully passed away on September 30, 2023, surrounded by family and friends - after a hard fought battle with cancer.
Michael was born on November 11, 1968, to Thomas Q. Lee and Susie K. Lee in The Big Apple – New York City. After Michael graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1986, he pursued a degree in Operations Management at CUNY at Baruch.
After graduation, he worked in the tech industry for over 25 years. Michael was passionate about Information Technology and loved what he did for a living. He was promoted to Information Protection Sr. Manager.
In 2001 Michael’s only son, Brandon T. Lee, was born. Brandon was Michael’s pride and joy who always put a smile on his face.
Michael was diagnosed with cancer in 2020 but did not let his diagnosis define him. He continued to excel in his career, constantly updating his skills.
Michael embraced life with a positive optimistic personality.
He pursued his passions with gusto, such as: Enjoying time with his loved ones; cheering on his favorite NY teams – Giants, Yankees, and Knicks; Music (Live Concerts, Broadway Plays); Cooking; Serious Foodie; Love of Wine; Traveling; Outdoor Adventures (hiking, biking); Community Service (Walk for Breast Cancer, Food Banks, Soup Kitchens).
*Fun Facts* he was a 2017 Spartan Race Sprint Participant and 2019 Int’l Dragon Boat Festival in Philadelphia.
Michael is survived by his son, Brandon, his siblings, Stephen and Victoria, and is predeceased by his parents Thomas and Susie. His family and friends will forever miss his sense of fun, adventure, and his NY attitude. Whenever you watch a NY game or go to a Broadway show or big name concert, think of Michael. Because he’s cheering on with you!
