MARTHA JUAH WRATEE-PULLEN of Sinoe County, Liberia, the youngest daughter of the late Peter and Francis Wratee, was born on November 29, 1944. She answered God’s call to everlasting life on Saturday March 21, 2020 in Edison, New Jersey. Praise God for victory that overcometh death.
MARTHA came to the United States in 1971 as an au pair. She attended Newark Central’s night school and then continued to Newark Business Professional Academy. She has held many positions since then as a machine operator, mail sorter, custodian and finally a home health aide.
MARTHA loved the Lord and loved to share the good news. She has been a member of Newark, New Jersey’s Union Gospel Tabernacle, Emmanuel Church of Christ and Calvary Gospel Church. She has served as an usher, choir member and open-air campaigner. Her absolute favorite scripture is Psalms 139: 7-13.
MARTHA is preceded in death by her beloved husband Jacob Pullen, her brother Peter Wratee, her sister Mary Wratee, her sister Esther Pyne and her son Frederick Killo-Tioh. She is survived by her daughter Ruth Solo (Ion Sheriff, Sr.), daughter Voncille Wratee, daughter-in-law Jestina Tioh; 14 grandchildren Renee Sheriff, Ian Sheriff, Raina Sheriff, Ni’mah Ismail, Amirah Ismail, Sultan Ismail, Ra’yaana Ismail, Juah Tioh, Tarpeh Tioh, Barclay Tioh, Ruth Tioh, Barlawolue Tioh, Frederick Tioh and Alberta Tioh; 3 great-grandchildren: Sundayboy Teah, Serrna Teah and Yamina Layla Mudimbi; her sister Sarah Wratee, her very dear friends Helena Mills and Betty Blemado along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
