Marjorie Ann (Oliver) Krauss, 82, passed away in her sleep on Friday, November 26th 2021 at home in Old Bridge NJ.
Marjorie was born in Bronx NY, where she resided until moving to Spotswood in 1950. She joined the First National Bank of Middlesex County, and worked for many years as a bank teller in the Spotswood branch, until she retired from that profession due to downsizing in 1992. She then earned her Certified Nursing Assistant certification in 1993, and worked for Monroe Village Senior Living Community, first as a C.N.A. and then as a concierge until 2001. Marjorie was then employed by the Spotswood Police Department as a crossing guard until she retired from that position in 2008. Marjorie had also maintained several part-time positions, including a sales representative of the former Silver Visions at the Brunswick Square Mall for eleven years, and as an evening receptionist at Dr. Cano's office in Spotswood.
She was a long time parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church in Spotswood, before moving to Old Bridge in 2011 to live with her daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter.
Marjorie is predeceased by her beloved husband, George Krauss of Spotswood NJ; her son, Phillip Orten of Jamesburg NJ; three sisters: Dorothy Chisholm of Spotswood NJ, Joan Scheicher of Spotswood NJ, and Mary Cannuli of Clearwater, FL. She is also predeceased by her brother, former police chief Jack Oliver of Spotswood NJ. She is survived by her daughter Susan Henry, her husband Joseph and their daughter Sarah, of Old Bridge NJ. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Nicholle Costa, Desiree Orten, Amanda O'Brien and Christopher Orten, and ten great-grandchildren.
As per Marjorie's request, her cremation was private. The family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday, December 12th from 12 pm – 4pm for a Celebration of Life reception at the Spotswood VFW located at 33 Daniel Road in Spotswood NJ.
