Edward Paul Emory, a man of 74 years, resided in Runnemede, New Jersey. Ed passed away in his home which he often referred to as his “Picasso” on the morning of December 7th, 2023.
He was born in Raleigh, North Carolina on August 1,1949 to Earnest Clifton Emory and Mary Kathryn Key Emory.
Ed is survived by his brother Jimmy, and niece Stephanie Scarano and is predeceased by his bothers Ronald and Jerry Emory. Edward had four children, Jennifer Kay, Paula Marie, and his only son Edward Paul Emory II, who also sadly passed this year, and finally his youngest daughter, Alayna Emory. He was survived by four grandchildren, Christopher, Edward Paul Emory III, Charlie, and another future little Emory.
Edward proudly served in the US Navy Reserves. Working his way up to Navy Petty Officer 3rd class while serving in Vietnam being Honorably discharged in 1973.
He was an entrepreneur, a teacher, and a creator. If he wasn’t running a business, he was remodeling his home. A man of many talents. Edward was a licensed Real Estate Agent in Southern Louisiana then became a Licensed Stockbroker for Merrill Lynch in New Orleans, Louisiana. In 1975, he bought an existing Service Master franchise in Lake Charles, Louisiana quickly finding success, selling his locations within 10 years. In 1986, Ed opened his first Fantastic Sams hair salon in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, shortly adding 8 additional locations.
In 1999, he retired and sold his beloved Fantastic Sams salons. Some of which are still open to this day, ran by the same management.
In retirement he moved to New Jersey where he stayed busy working on his home, cars and helping his neighbors, friends, and family.
Edward’s life, like a masterpiece, unfolded across states and seasons. His departure, a gentle stroke of finality, left an indelible mark on the canvas of time.
