Cesar Elias Montenegro, a math teacher and a long-time resident of Union City, New Jersey, passed away on Tuesday evening, July 20, 2021, at Alaris at Castle Hill.

Cesar leaves behind his wife Marlen Montero, two daughters Patricia Saric and Anabel Reilly, 3 of his eight siblings, 2 sons in law Jozo Saric and Robert Reilly Jr, and 5 grandchildren Robert, Mark, Ocean, Everest, and Skyler.

Cesar was born on January 17th, 1946 in Guayaquil, Ecuador to Ana Bustamante and Elias Montenegro. He studied to become a math teacher and work as a teacher’s aide for the Union City Board of Education for many years. He married Marlen Montero in September 1969, and together they welcomed their two daughters into the world, Patricia and Anabel. Cesar enjoyed dancing and had a passion for mathematics. He loved teaching children and spoiling his grandkids. He was also a very talented artist and loved drawing.

A church service will be held Saturday, July 24th at 1:00 pm at the Holy Family Church, 530 35th Street, Union City, NJ 07087.
