Jody Edward Chisholm was born on January 28, 1953 in the US Navel Hospital in San Diego, California. Jody graduated from North High School in Torrance California in 1971. Upon completion of high school Jody entered the United States Army, where he would complete a tour of duty in Vietnam. His bravery during the Vietnam War earned him many service metals and awards. He would be honorably discharged in 1977.
After leaving the army, he moved back to New Jersey with his family. It was here that he started his career with Beta / Georgia Pacific. He worked there until the company closed in 1986. He had moved on to work at Zagata Metal Works until 1990. Jody wanted more of a long term career, a place where he could settle in thats when he started his career at L’Oreal, where he would later retire.
In 1989 he would meet and start dating Claire Downing. This beautiful lady would prove to be his best friend and love of his life. They were married on March 11,1999. They spent 29 great years together. Claire would love to knit while Jody would enjoy playing with his train sets he built by hand in his shed. Jody was a caring and compassionate man. He loved his family. He had a sense of humor that can be compared to no other. We will miss his smile and the laughs we got from him.
Jody passed away at home on August 20, 2017 after a long battle with cancer.
Jody was predeceased by his parents Edward and Dorothy Chisholm and also by his sister Mary Cannuli, and his precious dog Bankrupt.
He is survived by his loving wife Claire and his son James, both of South River. His brother John Chisholm and his wife Terri from Lawndale, California. His baby sister Linda Kelly and her husband Brian Kelly from Kendall Park. His dear Aunt Marjorie from Old Bridge, and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. His best friends Mike and Jackie Yanchuck from Somerset.
