John Joseph Pierce

John J. Pierce, age 61, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 23. John was born in Neptune, NJ, and went to Monmouth Regional High School. He attended Brookdale Community College where he met the love of his life and soulmate Karen Brown.

John is described by his wife and children as selfless and always wanting to make other people happy. He had a welcoming personality and made us all laugh and smile with his silly, sometimes corny, or even heavily repeated jokes and he loved doing it. He had a heart for the elderly and volunteered his time to entertain them by singing songs from musicals and doing impersonations. He wanted them to know that they were special and not forgotten. Most importantly, he was a family man, who loved his family and supported them in whatever they wanted to do as long as it would make them happy. He was a man of faith and brought his children up in the Lord.

John is predeceased by his brother, Arthur Pierce.  Survived by his wife of 39 years, Karen (nee Brown). His six children: Joshua, Julianna and her husband Michael Gulley, Jonathan, Jordan, Janessa and her fiancé Kevin Prior, and Janina. His two sisters: Ginny and her husband Jim Batistick; Fran and her husband Russ Word; his brother Jeff Pierce and his fiancée Helen Cascella; his good friend/brother-in-law Gene Brown; and his sister-in-law Ginny and her husband Michael O’Connor. Survived by one niece, Caroline Pierce; eight nephews, Scott Parker, Jason Pierce, Lance Pierce, Brett Pierce, David Pierce, Adam Pierce, Chris and Dan O’Connor; and two grandchildren: Michael and Conner Gulley.

A Celebration Of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 1, at Epic Church International, David T. Demola Chapel, 2707 Main St. Extension, Sayreville, New Jersey 08872.
