Welcome to the memorial page for

Thomas Edward Gingras

July 29, 1961 ~ August 20, 2017 (age 56) 56 Years Old

Thomas Edward Collins Gingras was born on July 29 1961 in Pittsburgh PA. He was born to two young parents, Sarah Miller and Thomas Collins.  He spent his younger years in Pittsburgh and only 18 months later his younger brother, Peter S Collins came along. They later moved to Norristown, PA. The family vacationed at Lake Erie which held many happy memories for Tom! Tom was an adventurous boy who once crashed through a glass slider pretending to be a superhero. He received many stitches and it became a funny family story.

In 1973 Sarah remarried Dave Gingras who had a five year old girl of his own. The family soon became a mini-Brady bunch!  The newly formed family moved to the small quaint town of Fair Haven, New Jersey. Tom attended Knowlwood School and Rumson-Fair Haven High School. After high school Tom was a DJ and had his own DJ company, Night Shift Sound Productions. Tom also was quite the salesman who sold cars and boats at several dealerships on his beloved Jersey shore. He owned many different vehicles over the years but two that stand out are a dune buggy and a Cadillac Eldorado Convertible. He bought a beautiful waterfront home in Toms River which was the location of many wonderful family dinners get together and holidays! Tom battled cancer and endured many surgeries and facial reconstruction. When our mother had a lengthy hospitality stay last summer he was by her side day and night until her untimely passing . He loved music boating and the beach. He was a friend to many and would help others at times to his detriment just like our mom. . He was a son, a brother, an uncle, a nephew, and a friend . He was sensitive and kind and very very funny!!

Tom is survived by his brother, Peter S Collins, his sister, Gail Gingras, his father, David A. Gingras, his niece, Madison Mitchell, his nephew, Carter Mitchell, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He died in his sleep on August 20, 2017. He will be cremated and his ashes scattered somewhere at his beloved Jersey shore at a later date.

The family would like to thank all who helped and sent prayers.
