Michael Sutkowski, 77, of Highlands, NJ died in his home on December, 23, 2017.

Michael was born in Utica, New York in 1940 to parents Frank and Genevieve Sutkowski. He graduated from Syracuse University and was an alumnus of Utica College. His early career was in public relations working for Link Aviation in Binghamton, NY, Singer Sewing Machines, and the New York City Chamber of Commerce. He spent many of his adult years on the Jersey Shore and worked as a newspaper reporter for local New Jersey newspapers, The Matawan Independent and Red Bank Daily Register, among others.

Michael had an acerbic wit and enjoyed photography and writing short stories. In 2015, he won the HBAC-Laury A. Egan Short Story Writing Contest for his short story, “Such Ado about Nuthin”, a parody on William Shakespeare.

Michael is survived by daughters Natalie Sutkowski, Rosalind Sutkowski (husband Michael McGeehan) and Geraldine Sutkowski (husband Jonathan Lipsky); grandsons Sean McGeehan, Gabriel Lipsky and Isaac Lipsky; sister Elizabeth Leyh, nephew Blake Leyh and niece Genevieve Leyh; cousins Rosalie Mikus and Regina Millington; ex-wife Evie Sutkowski, and dear friend Dottie Wilson.

A private service will be held for family members.
